New faces lead democratic oversight of services

Find out which councillors have got responsibility for keeping an eye on Reading's health and wellbeing services.



Lead councillors for health and adult social care and new chairs of important oversight committees have been voted in, following May's local elections.

While the faces have changed, the overall ruling party - Labour - stays the same at the council.


Who's who


Lead councillor for education and public health and chair of the Reading Health and Wellbeing Board:

Cllr Ruth McEwan (Labour, Church ward), takes on the role previously held by Cllr Graeme Hoskin when he was lead councillor for health, wellbeing and sport


Chair of the adult social care, children’s and education (ACE) committee:

Cllr Alice Mpofu-Coles (Labour, Whitley) takes over from previous chair Cllr Sophia James

Other postholders include:

Lead councillor for adult social care: Cllr John Ennis (Labour, Southcote)

Lead councillor for children: Cllr Graeme Hoskin (Labour, Norcot)
