Do you feel you are being heard

Last year, Healthwatch Reading brought local people together for our Dying Well community conversation. Residents, carers and professionals shared their experiences of end-of-life care, highlighting the need for earlier conversations, better information, clearer signposting and greater awareness of support available.

These findings closely mirror the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman's recent report, Conversations that Matter Most, which found that people and families do not always feel listened to or fully involved in decisions about end-of-life care.

Importantly, your feedback led to action. The insights shared at Dying Well helped shape a series of public webinars designed to increase awareness of end-of-life support, encourage open conversations about dying, and improve understanding of advance care planning and the ReSPECT process.

Now, we want to hear from you.

  • Do you feel your voice was heard?

  • Were your wishes respected?

  • Were conversations about your care held at the right time?

  • Did you know where to go for information and support?

Your experiences can help improve communication, information and support for people facing some of life's most difficult moments.
